All the fan fiction I have read has been mostly fairly poor. I at least want to be able to know whether what I am about to read is going to be good instead of all this trial and error rubbish I have been going through with other sites. I was including fanfiction.net in that list by the way, there is no way to sort stories by their ratings, and their reviews tend to be just comments to the author, at times little more than validation or consolation.
