harry potter couples…

i’ve been seeing this lately on harry potter fan sites for ships people like:

James/Lily
Remus/Tonks
Sirius/OC
Oliver/Katie
Edward/Bella

i don’t get who’s OC? with sirius
does anyone know who they are?

OC stands for "Other Character". OC can be paired with any character from the books, not just Sirius, and the story is often set in AU (Alternate Universe). Sirius is Harry’s godfather. Edward/Bella is a Twilight ship, not Harry Potter. However, in AU stories, characters from Harry Potter may meet Twilight characters. James and Lily are Harry’s parents. Remus Lupin is Harry’s old Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher (3rd year) and a current member of the Order of the Phoenix. Nymphadora Tonks (known by her surname) is an Auror and member of the OotP. Oliver Wood and Katie Bell are both members of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. This pairing is completely fictional and has never been confirmed by JK Rowling.
