I want to make a unofficial Family Guy Fan website that uses (displays) logo’s, characters, do i need rights?

I want to use characters, jokes, pictures, stills, 50 sec videos, logo’s, DO I NEED PERMISSION FROM FAMILY GUY?
I will just be using Family Guy showing reviews of episodes, rankings, quoting jokes, showing pictures and 50sec videos, no selling of material,

Yes, you need permission.

"Rights" would work too, but unless you are a multi-billionaire, you’ll not acquire rights. Permission maybe, rights no.

EDIT: Jackie is 100% wrong. Noncommercial use of someone else’s copyrighted material is against the law.

No, As long as you don’t charge money or sell anything on the site, it’s not a violation, minded only 50 sec videos. You don’t need permission because they can’t sue you as only a fan. ie not a con artist or business person.

There are most likely a group of "Press shots" that can be used easily without authorization. For any other shots, including screen grabs and such, you will need express written consent.
